ERASMUS+ - Project GINA-Green INclusive Academy!
22 April 2026
As part of the European ERASMUS+ project "GINA-Green Inclusive Academy," the Internationaler Bund organized an inclusive event on April 16, 2026, titled "I do something for my environment – always and everywhere!" for people with and without disabilities, to present the project as well as the newly developed E-Book.
After the presentation of the project and the products and results developed over two years, activities from the e-book on the topics of climate change, water, energy, and waste were tried out at four themed tables. The practical exercises were guided by Monika Krocke and Kaya Klein from the cooperation partner Umweltlernen with the following questions:
What are the 17 sustainability goals and what are their names?
How much water is used when brushing teeth, washing dishes, or showering?
How do we sort our waste correctly? What do we need electricity for, and what not?
How quickly does ice melt?
With the help of card games, photos, water columns, and trash bins, the participants learned a lot about climate change and sustainable actions.
The participants were enthusiastic about the E-book as well as the numerous practical tips and suggestions. "We still need to pay much more attention to water consumption in our facility," emphasized Nicole. … and Benedikt highlighted: "I have learned a lot again today."
The E-book is to be translated into all 8 partner languages by May and will be presented at the closing meeting in Lithuania as part of a large conference.

Rotary Clubs Provide Vital Support to Children with Disabilities Affected by the Earthquake!
5 April 2026
Spastic Childrens’ Foundation of Turkey continues its work in Hatay province—the area hardest hit by the disaster following the earthquake three years ago - without pause.
The Rotary Clubs of Gaziantep Zeugma and Toros from Rotary District 2430 in Turkey, along with the Constanta Cetatea Tomis and Bucharest Levant Rotary Clubs from Rotary District 2241 in Romania, gathered in Hatay to launch the “Children’s Miracle” Global Donation Project, which they are carrying out in collaboration with our Foundation.
As part of the project, which was launched on Sunday, January 11, at the Neşe Özgür Mustafa Sabuncuoğlu Center for Children with Disabilities, 20 children who lost limbs in the earthquake will receive orthotics and prosthetics, physical therapy, psychological support, and special education services.
We extend our gratitude to the Toros Rotary and Zeugma Rotary Clubs, as well as the Rotary Foundation, for their contributions to this project, on behalf of our children and their families.
Osman Fehmi Öztürk, Spastic Childrens’ Foundation of Turkey, Turkey

KB Brings Baskin to Modigliana: A New Inclusive Sports Initiative Takes Off
5 April 2026
Exciting news for the community of Modigliana: KB is introducing baskin, an inclusive sport inspired by basketball, aimed at bringing people of all abilities together on the court. The journey officially begins today with the first training sessions of the team Kara Bobowski & Friends, led by Hassan from Baskin 3 Colli Brisighella.
Baskin is a unique and innovative sport designed to promote inclusion and teamwork. While it draws inspiration from traditional basketball, it stands out thanks to its structure: each team consists of five players with different roles, skills, and specific rules tailored to ensure that everyone can actively participate. The result is a dynamic and engaging game where diversity becomes a strength.
Looking ahead, the organizers hope to expand participation by involving more amateur athletes who are interested in trying out this inclusive discipline. Anyone curious about baskin is warmly invited to get in touch using the contact number provided on the flyer or, even better, to attend a training session in person.
Training sessions take place every Wednesday from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the primary school gym. It’s a great opportunity to discover the sport, meet the team, and experience the positive energy of this initiative firsthand.
This project is part of InBuonaCompagnia, coordinated by the Consorzio Solidarietà Sociale Forlì-Cesena and supported by the Fondazione Cassa dei Risparmi di Forlì. Special thanks go to the Municipality of Modigliana and the “S. Lega” Comprehensive Institute for their valuable collaboration in making this initiative possible.
With baskin arriving in Modigliana, sport becomes not just a game, but a shared experience where inclusion, community, and passion come together.

Medis 5 Raises Awareness on Democracy in the Swedish Parliament
5 April 2026
Caravan 2000 member Medis 5 from Sweden continues to actively promote inclusion and civic engagement. On March 18th, representatives Anders and Kent delivered speeches in the Swedish Parliament, highlighting the importance of participation in democratic processes.
In their speeches, they emphasized that democracy can only thrive when everyone has the opportunity - and responsibility - to vote. They also underlined the vital role of culture in society, noting that it enlightens, connects people, and strengthens democratic values.
This meaningful contribution reflects Medis 5’s ongoing commitment to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to actively participate in society and have their voices heard.

Volunteering Without Barriers: A New Initiative by PSONI Gdańsk
5 April 2026
Caravan 2000 member PSONI Gdańsk has launched an inspiring new initiative - “Volunteering Without Barriers” - as part of the Best Buddies Poland program. The club, which started in February, is dedicated to people with intellectual disabilities who wish to actively contribute to their communities as volunteers, rather than as recipients of support.
This initiative reflects a powerful shift in perspective, emphasizing that everyone has something valuable to give when provided with the right opportunities and support. By creating an inclusive environment, the program empowers participants to take on meaningful roles and build a sense of purpose and belonging.
In March, two training sessions were organized to introduce participants to the concept of volunteering and to develop their skills and confidence. These sessions prepared them for their first hands-on experience, which was successfully carried out shortly after.
As part of their first volunteering activity, participants created Easter cards for patients in a hospice and residents of a Social Welfare Home. These small but heartfelt gestures are expected to bring warmth and joy to those who receive them, highlighting the positive impact of inclusive volunteering.
The “Volunteering Without Barriers” initiative demonstrates that, with the right support, people with intellectual disabilities can actively participate in community life and make meaningful contributions. It is a strong example of inclusion in action - where helping others becomes a shared value and a source of empowerment for all involved.

Confidence and Inclusion Through PR.I.M.E
12 February 2026
We are happy to share with you a meaningful experience from ESTIA that took place during the last week of January, as part of the PRIME project – Promoting Inclusive Mobility Experience, which promotes mobility opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities.
ESTIA travelled to Malta for the scheduled partners’ meeting and the Training Test of the PRIME project tools. This time, alongside our trainers, our beneficiary Maria K. also participated in the mobility. Maria completed a mini-internship at the historic Teatru Manoel in Valletta, gaining a unique hands-on learning experience in such a remarkable cultural environment.
During her placement, Maria supported the theatre team at the reception desk, checking tickets, and assisting at the cloakroom. She truly enjoyed interacting with visitors and staff, and she felt proud and confident taking on her responsibilities.
We would like to warmly thank Vis Med Net for the excellent organisation and hospitality, as well as our PRIME partners – KB (Italy), PSONI (Poland), PsPc (Lithuania), CAP ULYSSE (France), and CARDET (Cyprus) – for their collaboration and creativity throughout the project.
We return home with valuable knowledge, experiences, and many smiles from a truly unforgettable journey.
Maria Moskofidou, ESTIA, Greece

PR.I.M.E – Register for the International Online Training on Inclusive Mobility
09 January 2026
Have you ever faced the challenge that participants struggle to understand official documents they need to read, fill in, and sign during international mobilities? This is a very common situation, especially for people with intellectual disabilities.
Within the PR.I.M.E. project, several practical support tools have been developed to respond to these challenges. Some of the project outputs are already available and ready to use.
On the project website, you can now access easy-to-read support versions of theuk Learning Agreement and Volunteering Agreement. These are not official documents, but clear and accessible support tools that help participants better understand what they are signing and what their rights and responsibilities are.
In the coming months, additional easy-to-read support documents will be released, including Europass, Youthpass, and the Participant’s Report. All of them are designed to make mobility experiences clearer, safer, and more inclusive.
However, having tools is not enough — knowing how to use them in practice is essential. That is why an online training on Easy-to-Read (ETR) is already available, explaining how to apply these support documents when working with participants effectively.
The project also introduces an innovative augmented reality digital tool that helps participants prepare for their first flight by guiding them step by step through airport procedures.
All PR.I.M.E. project outputs will be available on the PR.I.M.E. platform by the end of the project in March 2026.
Before that, we warmly invite you to take part in an International Online Training, open to the general public. During this live seminar, PR.I.M.E. partners will present all project outputs and results, demonstrate how to use them in practice, and share insights on how to make mobility projects more inclusive for people with intellectual disabilities.
International Online Training:
Date: 18 February 2026
Time: 10:00–13:00 CET
Format: Online
Participation: Open to all
Registration is required. Register HERE - https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/EsAoCCZrTwCQyOHVqApPJw?
Join us to explore practical tools, real examples, and inclusive approaches that make international mobility accessible and meaningful for everyone.
